>_ Refund Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
The short version
RACE has a 14-day free trial with no limits, so you can evaluate it fully before buying. Because of that, refunds are generally not issued. If your situation is an exception, write to me at [email protected] — refunds are granted at my discretion.
1. Try before you buy
The trial version of RACE is fully functional, with no limits, for 14 days from its first launch. It runs the same renderer, the same shells and the same features as the licensed build. The trial is there so you can confirm RACE works on your machine and suits how you work before buying a licence.
2. General policy
A licence is a one-time purchase of digital content that is delivered immediately by e-mail. Once your licence has been delivered, the purchase is considered final and refunds are not issued as a matter of course.
3. Exceptions
I will normally refund when:
- you were charged twice, or bought the same licence twice by mistake;
- your licence never arrived and I could not deliver it to you;
- the Software has a defect that stops it from working on a supported system and I cannot fix it for you in reasonable time;
- the purchase was clearly accidental or unauthorised.
Outside those cases, you are still welcome to write. Every request is read by a person and decided on its merits.
4. How to request a refund
E-mail [email protected] within 30 days of purchase, from the address used at checkout, and include your order or receipt number and a short description of the problem. I aim to reply within 3 business days.
Approved refunds are returned through Stripe Technology Europe, Limited, the Merchant of Record for the sale, to the original payment method. It typically takes 3–10 business days for the funds to reach you, depending on your bank or card issuer. Refunded licences are deactivated.
5. Refunds handled by the Merchant of Record
Because the sale is made through Stripe Managed Payments, you can also take a payment problem straight to Link — the name the order was sold under — at support.link.com, without going through me first. Link handles payment and billing questions, and may refund a purchase within 60 days on its own authority, including where I am slow to respond or where a refund avoids a chargeback. That is a decision I do not control, and it can go your way even where this policy says a refund would not normally be issued. Product questions — does RACE do X, why does Y not work on my machine — should still come to me, because Link cannot answer them.
6. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have by law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content. That right ends once delivery has begun with your express consent and your acknowledgement that it ends, which you give at checkout. You also retain your statutory rights in respect of digital content that is faulty or not as described.
